Q: Why does my school say I have to use a certain photographer for my senior pictures?
A: Some schools want the yearbook pictures to all look the same, so they contract one photographer to photograph everyone. Typically, the lowest bidder gets the job. However, that is not whom you have to BUY your senior portraits from. Order your senior portraits from a studio based on the quality and style that fits you best.
Q: Why is there a big price difference in pictures?
A: Like anything else you buy, there can be big quality differences. Sessions Photography makes sure you have the latest backgrounds, we only use the best equipment and software money can buy. Others might cut corners to lower cost, but the quality usually shows it. And often, they make up for it with extra charges for things you need like retouching blemishes.
Q: How long do your sessions take?
A: We spend a lot of time with our clients. Typically, we work with only one senior at a time and spend up to 1.5 or 2 hours (depending on your session choice) making sure you look perfect. No one can make sure every detail is in order when you rush people through.
Q: How many photographers do you have?
A: Unlike many large volume studios that have many photographers, at Sessions, Justin is the only photographer. Your images will not be trusted to an inexperienced photographer.
Q: My senior said that I have to call your studio, what makes you so special?
A: They probably requested us because they want to make sure their senior portraits look great. Many studios run people through like an assembly line and do not pay attention to style and detail. We make sure everything is perfect in our portraits. From knowing many tricks on posing and lighting, using trained retouchers to make sure skin and eyes are perfect, to using special software for rich, healthy color. Plus, we offer lots of variety. Instead of everyone hugging the same tree at the park, we have nearly 50 backgrounds and many sets on our grounds we use to insure everyone does not all look the same.
Q: When is the best time to get senior pictures taken?
A: Most seniors do portraits in summer and fall. There are more options and you have a good tan. Some put it off until later in the year, like spring, but then you get close to the end of school deadlines and have to hit a tanning bed to not be pasty white!
Q: How long does it take to get an appointment?
A: In summer, our schedule fills up to 6 weeks ahead, so plan early. Around yearbook deadlines, we actually SELL OUT! During the senior off season (Jan-April) our schedule is lighter and it may only take 2 weeks for an appointment.
